Rim nice is nice. but bare in mind one thing which i learn the hard way. If your parallel parking is as bad as I am, don't buy those more "out" then the tyre by too much type. Otherwise rub kerb = rim scratch. lol.

I think 16 inch rims will be just nice for Elantra. Larger rims may be a tad noisy and increase fuel consumption. Just my thoughts.

got to weigh between looks vs comfort lor. I think for every stock rims the car come with, upsize 1 inch should be good enough.

Korean brand of tyres... Hankook also from same country but heard they're better than Kumho, not too sure of this cos hv never used them before. They're cheaper options if you hv larger rims like 17" & above...

To each it's own. It's individual choice. For me, tyres are the only car components that touches the road tarma & I only trust more establish & branded name like BS, Michilin, Conti or Goodyear.

Dun think I will ever touch any Korean brand of tyres, not in my lifetime. LOL

Your concern is valid cos even with stock 16" rims, we're struggling to attain the stated 14.9km/l FC... Of course, wider tyres will also be harder on the pocket when the time comes to change them...

don't step on the accelerator so hard, when got red light, release accelerator and let it roll towards the stopping point. I try to keep the eco mode lights on as much as possible, and for my start-stop type of driving pattern sometimes I can get 12km/l. I think for those who work a distance away from home, should be able to get at least 13km/l

to me it basically reminds me that I'm stepping too hard on the pedal when the light goes off.. haha.
it's supposed to help you save petrol by not rev-ing too high. I haven't really tried the difference between switching the eco mode on and off.

The Eco light only useful to maintain speed. Pick up follow Eco, the car just feels too sluggish.

Don't get what you mean... is it 8.3 L/Km when you're on cruise control? If so, then there's more improvement, cos I've achieved as good as 6.5 L/Km while cruising on HWY travelling btw Pasir Ris & Jurong West, maintaining speed juz around 100 kph, with abt 2.4K RPM. Actually we can't do much to improve FC while on cruise control, it's what we do during the start-stop driving conditions in normal driving situations that determine how good our FC will be, ie try to maintain ECO mode all thru the gear changes, machiam light footed as if stepping on eggs...

Juz remember, if wanna achieve great FC, don't drive with a heavy foot, make sure your ECO light is always visible when changing gears, don't cheong or rev too much, always change up to a higher gear at the earliest opportunity (that's where the shiftronic mode comes into play). Anyway, going up north tmr to Melaka, see if I can further improve FC.
